HE’S DEFENDED OUR COLOURS 147 TIMES

Ángel Correa renews his contract until 2024

The Argentine joined our club in December 2014 from San Lorenzo.

Atlético de Madrid are delighted to announce Ángel Correa has renewed his contract with our club until 2024. He joined our club in 2014 and since then, he’s defended our colours 147 times, he has scored 26 goals and gave 26 assistants. In our league match against SD Huesca at the Wanda Metropolitano, Correa defended our colors for the 100th time in all competitions.

"I'm proud the club still in trust me and I’m happy to keep on growing as a footballer here,” Correa said after signing his new contract. “That means I'm doing things right, but I have to keep working, improving and growing in this club, where I'm very happy.”

Since his debut for our team on 22 August 2015 at the Vicente Calderon against Las Palmas, Angel has not stopped growing up, becoming, last season, one of the players that have competed in more games: 56. In addition, the Argentine, who was the last red-and-white goal scorer in the Vicente Calderon, was a key player in the achievement of the Europa League in Lyon, his first title with Atlético de Madrid.

Another of the great achievements of Correa was his debut with Argentina in September 2015. Its premiere could not be better since our player scored in the victory of the blue and white team against Bolivia 7-0. At 23 years old, Correa has already worn the shirt of his country eight times.
