MATCH PREVIEW | ATLÉTICO DE MADRID - SLOVAN BRATISLAVA

A win to end our Champions League campaign in 2024

Atlético de Madrid welcome Slovan Bratislava to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Wednesday (18:45 CET), with the goal of obtaining another win to round off our matches in the Champions League in 2024.

Our team is on the hunt for their fourth Champions League victory to continue the good run of form, against Slovan Bratislava, and to edge closer to qualification for the next stage. There are still two matches to be played in 2025 to finish the League Phase of this new format for the highest-level continental competition, at home against Bayer Leverkusen and away in Salzburg.
We come into the match in good form after defeating PSG in Paris (1-2) thanks to an equaliser from Molina and then Correa’s last-minute winner, as well as the win of Sparta Prague on the last matchday (0-6), thanks to goals from Julián Álvarez (2), Correa (2), Llorente, and Griezmann. The objective is to gain another three points in an attempt to climb the league standings and push for qualification for the next round.

SK Slovan Bratislava will be without Tolic, who was sent off during the match against AC Milan, in which they lost 2-3. Our opponent has lost all five matches in this League Phase and currently sit in 35th place in the league standings.

The Lithuanian official Manfredas Lukjancukas will be the referee for this match and will be supported by his compatriots Mangirdas Mirauskas and Vytenis Kazlauskas. The fourth official will be Mindaugas Jackus, from Lihtuania. The German official Christian Dingert will be in charge of VAR while Assistant VAR will be the Swiss official Fedayi San.
