A day of skill and excitement behind the wheel with Hyundai
Eight players – four from the men's first team and four from the women's first team – alongside Diego Pablo Simeone and Víctor Martín, the respective head coaches, attended the Hyundai event.
This Tuesday, the Riyadh Air Metropolitano hosted a day of driving skill and excitement organised by Hyundai, the official sponsor of Atlético de Madrid since 2018. Attending the event were our head coach Diego Pablo Simeone; men's first-team players Koke, Griezmann, Giuliano, and Raspadori; women's first-team coach Víctor Martín; and female players Lola Gallardo, Carmen Menayo, Fiamma, and Silvia Lloris.
Our club and the South Korean multinational renewed their partnership this year until 2027, signing an agreement that sees the car manufacturer become the club’s Official Mobility Partner.
During the event, guests experienced Hyundai’s cutting-edge vehicle technology, driving prowess, and sporting spirit. Our male and female players showcased their driving abilities on the ‘IONIQ Skills Circuit Pro-Am’, completing a series of challenges held in the car park of the club stadium.
Each team, made up of one male player and one female player alongside a content creator, progressed through various challenges, accumulating points based on their performance in precision, control, and execution. Final scores determined the winning team at the end of the challenge.
The first challenge was the "impossible parking" test. In this task, each team selected their difficulty level by choosing the parking space they wished to attempt. The objective was to complete the manoeuvre without touching any obstacles and in the shortest possible time. Participants could either park manually or use Hyundai’s advanced parking assistance systems. Menayo and Griezmann faced Raspadori and Lloris in this round, which ended in a draw.
Next came the "millimetre-perfect braking" challenge: teams accelerated before executing a sharp stop. Points were awarded based on how close the front bumper came to a laser gate – the shorter the distance, the higher the score. On this occasion, the team made up of Menayo and Griezmann emerged victorious.
Once these challenges concluded, it was time for Dani Sordo and Pepe López. The Hyundai Motorsport drivers thrilled the crowd with demonstration laps and extreme manoeuvres in one of the most radical sports cars from the IONIQ range.
With this activation, Hyundai Motor Spain reaffirms its role as Atlético de Madrid’s Official Mobility Partner and underscores its commitment to cleaner, smarter mobility. As the club’s official vehicle provider, the company supplies a fleet comprising the IONIQ 5 N, IONIQ 6, KONA, and SANTA FE models, while continuing to develop joint initiatives that bring together innovation, sustainability, and sporting passion.
