Atlético de Madrid's 2020 year in review

Our first win of the year came on Jan. 4 against Levante. Correa and Felipe scored the goals.
The Wanda Metropolitano paid tribute to Filipe Luis ahead of the game.
Our second match of the year saw us beat FC Barcelona 3-2 in the Spanish Super Cup thanks to a sensational comeback.
On March 11, we completed another epic comeback as we won 3-2 at Anfield to progress to the Champions League quarterfinals.
After the COVID-19 break, football resumed on June 14, when we drew 1-1 at Athletic Club. Three days later, we won 5-0 at Osasuna as João Félix netted his first brace at Atleti.
The Wanda Metropolitano hosted its first match in over three months on June 20. It was a very special and emotional day. Koke placed Margarita's bouquet ahead of the fixture.
Our club paid tribute to the Atlético fans that passed away during the pandemic. Among them were our legends Joaquín Peiró, José Luis Capón and Miguel Jones, as well as our Academy player Christian Minchola.
Radomir Antic also passed away during the period. The coach holds a very special place in our history, having guided us to a LaLiga and Copa del Rey double in 1996. May all the Atlético de Madrid supporters that passed away in 2020 rest in peace.
Our fan clubs and club members were also present in our first home again after the break as their names and banners were showcased.
On June 27, Diego Pablo Simeone became the Atleti coach with the most wins in the top flight of Spanish football (195) ahead of Luis Aragonés.
In the last LaLiga game of the season, on July 19, we paid tribute to Germán Burgos, who announced he was to leave our club at the end of the season.
On Sep. 27, we earned our biggest win in the opening match of LaLiga since 1955. We beat Granada 6-1 on the day as Suárez netted a brace on his debut.
Thanks to our 2-0 win over Betis on Oct. 24, we reached our longest ever non-losing streak in LaLiga. We surpassed our streak of 21 games unbeaten from 2017.
Saúl played his 300 game for Atleti as we beat Lokomotiv Moscow on Nov. 3. Our President, Enrique Cerezo, presented him with a plaque five days later, ahead of the game against Cádiz.
Koke became our first ever player to reach 100 European matches on Nov. 25.
Our captain played his 471st game on Dec. 1, surpassing club legend Enrique Collar.
On Dec. 9, we qualified for the Champions League last 16 thanks to our 2-0 win at Salzburg. Hermoso and Carrasco scored on the night.
Simeone reached his 300th win as our coach on Dec. 22 as we beat Real Sociedad.
In the same game, Koke became the player with the most wins in Atleti history (281), surpassing Adelardo's 280.
