We’re in the Champions League semi-finals!
We will face the winner of the tie between Arsenal and Sporting CP in the next round.
Atlético de Madrid are back to being one of the best four teams on the continent for the first time in nine seasons. In an exciting knockout tie, which we won this evening against FC Barcelona at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Diego Pablo Simeone’s side have reached the Champions League semi-finals. In the penultimate round of the competition, we will face the winner of the clash between Arsenal and Sporting CP.
The first-leg will be played at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on 28 or 29 April, with the second-leg being played on 5 or 6 May at the Emirates Stadium or the José Alvalade.
We’ve made it to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League on six occasions - facing Real Madrid (on two occasions), Celtic FC , Ajax, Chelsea and Bayern München - with our final appearance coming in the 2016/17 season.
