Welcome, Le Normand!

Spain international and EURO 2024 winner strengthens the Rojiblancos’ squad.

Robin Le Normand (Pabu, Côtes-d'Armor, France, 11 November 1996) has joined Atlético de Madrid and signed a contract that will tie him to the Club for five seasons.

EURO 2024 winner Le Normand has joined the Club from Real Sociedad to strengthen the backline. He is known for his physical prowess, ball-playing skills and strong defensive interventions thanks to his 187 cm frame.

He started his playing career at just eleven years old when he signed for Stade Brestois. There, he climbed the lower French divisions before making his Ligue 2 debut during the 2015/16 season. His leadership qualities in the heart of defence earned him a move to Real Sociedad. He played three seasons for the Basque club’s reserve team, with whom he came close to promotion to the Segunda División. In 2018/19, he made the step up to the first team, making his competitive debut against Real Betis. Two years after his debut, he lifted the Copa del Rey with Real Sociedad following a victory over Athletic Club in the final.

In total, the 27-year-old defender scored six goals in 221 matches for the San Sebastián-based club. On the international stage, he has made 17 appearances for Spain, with whom he won the Nations League in 2023 and the European Championship in 2024. Le Normand started six of La Roja’s seven fixtures during their triumphant journey in this summer’s tournament in Germany, missing only the semi-final clash against France through suspension.

The defender has passed his medicals, which were held at the Unidad de Medicina Deportiva de Vithas I Invictum.

Welcome, Robin!
