Welcome, Juan Musso!

The club and Atalanta have reached an agreement for the loan of the Argentine international goalkeeper, who won the Copa América in 2021 and the Europa League last season.

Atlético Madrid and Atalanta have come to an agreement for Juan Musso to join the club on loan until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old Argentine goalkeeper, who is 191 cm tall and boasts an excellent command of aerial play, brings a wealth of experience from Italy’s Serie A, where he has spent the past six seasons after starting his career in his home country with Racing Club de Avellaneda.

After progressing through the youth ranks of Club de Regatas San Nicolás, he signed for Racing Club in 2012, where he won the league title in 2014. He later moved to Europe to join Udinese, where he was teammates with another current Atlético player, Rodrigo de Paul. Musso has spent the last three season at Atalanta, with whom he lifted the Europa League last season. In total, he has played 203 matches during his time in Italy and held a key role in securing Atalanta’s first continental title.

An international at various youth levels for Argentina, he made his senior debut in 2019, going on to win the Copa América in 2021 and the Finalissima in 2022.

The goalkeeper passed the required medical examination at Vithas - Invictum High-Performance Sports Medicine Centre at the Hospital Universitario Madrid Arturo Soria before signing his contract.
