Jackson Martinez: "I am happy to be here"

Jackson Martinez now wears the colours of Atlético de Madrid. The Colombian striker was presented at the Vicente Calderón Stadium. The new red and white player was accompanied by his family members and representatives in a presentation event conducted by the Chairman, Enrique Cerezo, and where the Sporting Director of the club, José Luis Pérez Caminero was also there.
Enrique Cerezo opened the event by "Welcoming Jackson Martínez, Colombian forward who comes to our team to further strengthen a position featuring players of proven quality and young people with great prospects."
The Club’s Chairman continued his speech defining the Colombian as: "Passion, courage and resistance are three words that define the character of the Colombian. The same character that Jackson Martinez has shown during his football career. Jackson has earned a place among the best forwards in the world thanks to that character that is achieved through work, effort, tenacity and self-improvement".
For his part, Jackson Martinez said that "first of all, I want to thank the Chairman. I arrive to a committed team, a team that is hungry and a team that demands too much. Atlético has been doing an excellent job and I am here to contribute. Happy to be here."
About his contribution to the team, the Colombian said that "I have come to play as a team and try to give may all for the benefit of the club."
The Colombia International said that "Fernando and Griezmann are spectacular players. In addition, Vietto is a player who is growing and is here to contribute. We want to make a good complement, regardless of who plays and so help Atlético achieve important things."
