Welcome, Horațiu Moldovan!
The 26-year-old goalkeeper signs for the remainder of the season and three more.
Horațiu Moldovan (January 20, 1998, Cluj-Napoca, Romania) is a new Atlético de Madrid player after the agreement reached with Rapid Bucharest for the transfer of the goalkeeper to our club, for whom he signs for the remainder of the season and three more.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper has played 22 official matches with the Romanian team this season, keeping a clean sheet on 10 occasions. He has played a total of 82 games in these last three seasons with Rapid Bucharest. His great performance made him debut in 2022 with the Romanian national team, with whom he has already played eight games.
Moldovan will be the third Romanian footballer to defend our club's jersey. Previously, Daniel Claudiu Prodan played for two seasons (1996/97 and 1997/98) and played 44 official matches. Later it would be Cosmin Marius Contra, who would be between 2002 and 2005 (playing a season on loan at West Bromwich Albion), the Romanian full-back would play 41 games as a red and white player.
Moldovan passed the relevant medical examination at the Vithas Madrid Arturo Soria University Hospital and then went to the club offices at the Cívitas Metropolitano, where he was received by our CEO, Miguel Ángel Gil, to sign his contract with our entity.
Welcome to the Red & White family!
