"We created opportunities but they didn’t enter"

Diego Pablo Simeone, after the tie to two goals against Celta de Vigo in the Vicente Calderón Stadium, was satisfied with the performance by Atlético’s team despite the result: "I think that from all the matches that we've played in the last few days, this has been the best. I liked the team because they recovered very well from an unexpected goal when Celta had not arrived to the box yet", he noted.

The Argentinian coach highlighted the character that his players had when they conceded the first goal: "we reacted well by scoring two goals and being able to score a third. We sought it, we had chances, their goalkeeper played a great match and we leave with a point", he acknowledged.

Simeone justified the value which he awarded to the team’s reaction: "I value this greatly because it’s one of the best matches we played in attack and defence, playing well together so we could not be counterattacked. These are dangerous games", he admitted.

The red and white coach rescued that "we almost always play in a rival field, having scoring situations. We must try to create them, we create them and today they could not enter. Their goalkeeper played a great match". At the same time, he added that "we had very good combinations, the forwards held the ball well so that we could come from behind".
