We are in the Copa del Rey final!
The Copa del Rey final will be held at La Cartuja on April 18. We will face the winner of the tie between Real Sociedad and Athletic Club.
Atlético de Madrid will return to a Copa del Rey final after defeating FC Barcelona in the semi-final.
This Wednesday we will learn our opponent in the final, which will be played on April 18 at the Estadio de La Cartuja, once the clash between Real Sociedad and Athletic Club has been decided.
Our most recent Copa del Rey final appearance took place on May 17, 2013. In that match, against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, we lifted the trophy thanks to goals from Diego Costa and Miranda (1–2).
Our campaign in this year’s competition began with a visit to Atlético Baleares (2–3). In the Round of 16, we travelled to the Estadio de Riazor to face Deportivo de La Coruña (0–1). After winning in Galicia, we faced Real Betis Balompié at La Cartuja (0–5), where we will play the final.
Throughout our history, we have won the Copa del Rey 10 times. The first came in 1960 against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. At La Cartuja, Diego Pablo Simeone’s side will have the opportunity to further add to our club’s trophy cabinet.
