Visit to the RCDE Stadium
This Wednesday, May 24, from 10pm, we will face Espanyol in a new LaLiga game corresponding to matchday 36.
On matchday 36, which takes place in midweek, we visit Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium this Wednesday at 10pm. The clash is vital for the Catalans, who are coming off the back of an important win at Vallecas against Rayo Vallecano (1-2) and are just one point away from the relegation places. They have 34 points and are one point behind Getafe, who are currently in the relegation zone.
On the other hand, our team returned to winning ways against Osasuna on a special day, Children's Day (3-0), thanks to goals from Carrasco, Saúl and Correa. The team has four wins and one defeat in the last five games and the objective is to continue with the victories in the three remaining matches in order to maintain the second place they regained last weekend.
As for the previous meetings against Espanyol, in the first round at the Cívitas Metropolitano there was a draw (1-1), while in the last campaign there were two Atleti wins, first at the RCDE Stadium (1-2), thanks to goals from Carrasco and Lemar in the final stretch of the match, and then in our stadium (2-1), with two goals from Carrasco, the second from a penalty in the last minute of extra time.
