Vicente Del Bosque calls up the World Cup players, with the exception of Cazorla for the injured Navas

A total of 23 players for the friendly against Portugal

This Friday, the Spanish national team manager, Vicente del Bosque, released the list of 23 players called up for the friendly match against Portugal next Wednesday, in which he has placed his confidence on the players who won the World Cup, with the sole change necessary due to the injury to Sevilla winger Jesús Navas, whose spot will be taken by Santi Cazorla, from Villarreal.

‘La Roja’ will wrap up 2010 on the 17th by playing this friendly, which will also serve as a promotional match for the ‘Iberian Candidacy’ of both countries to be chosen as hosts of the 2018 World Cup, fifteen days before the FIFA Board announces its decision on 2 December.

The international players will meet on Monday and will take advantage of this day to participate in the ceremonial acts which will be held in Las Rozas, and which will be attended by hundreds of footballers who have worn the national team jersey over the course of its history.
 
The squad list is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Pepe Reina (Liverpool) and Víctor Valdés (FC Barcelona).

Defenders: Álvaro Arbeloa (Real Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Raúl Albiol (Real Madrid), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Carlos Marchena (Villarreal), Gerard Piqué (FC Barcelona) and Carles Puyol (FC Barcelona).

Midfielders: Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Sergio Busquets (FC Barcelona), Andrés Iniesta (FC Barcelona), Xavi Hernández (FC Barcelona), Javi Martínez (Athletic Club), Cesc Fábregas (Arsenal) and Santi Cazorla (Villarreal).

Strikers: David Silva (Manchester City), Pedro Rodríguez (FC Barcelona), Fernando Torres (Liverpool), David Villa (FC Barcelona), Fernando Llorente (Athletic) and Juan Manuel Mata (Valencia).
