Tough test in Stockholm

The Rojiblancos’ preparations for the return of competitive football continue as Atlético de Madrid take on Manchester United at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, on Saturday (15:00 CEST kick-off).
Simeone’s men go into it following a victory over Getafe in a training game in Majadahonda on Wednesday. The Rojiblancos won 4-1 thanks to a Lookman brace, a goal by Arnau Ortiz and an Obed Vargas penalty. Manchester United, meanwhile, thrashed Rosenborg by five goals to nil on Friday, 24 July, following a 1-0 defeat in their opening pre-season friendly against Wrexham.
Still without a raft of players who were at the World Cup, Atleti are up against a side with plenty of new faces, following the arrivals of Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans, the young Brazilian Andrey Santos, and veteran Wales goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
Following the friendly in the Swedish capital, we travel to the Seoul World Cup Stadium (South Korea), where we will take on Manchester City on Sunday, 9 August, at 13:00 CEST, as part of the Coupang Play Series. Our pre-season preparations then come to a close on Friday, 14 August, with a friendly against Olympique de Marseille at the CEPAC Vélodrome (17:30 CEST kick-off).
