Tough blow in Vigo
Our boys suffered their first defeat of the season in Balaídos.
Our final match before the first international break of the season, ended in a 2-0 lost.
The game started off intensely and both teams disputed possession. However, we had the best chances of the first 45 minutes. Antoine Griezmann nearly scored in the 27th minute, but his shot went just wide. Later, Saúl tried his luck from the distance, but Celta goalkeeper made a good save.
In the second half Celta took advantage of an unfortunate slip by Diego Godín to score the first goal of the afternoon. A few minutes later, Aspas scored the second.
In order to turn out the match around, Simeone introduced Kalinic, Lemar and Arias to the field. It was Kalinic and Arias' official debut for our club.
Oue players looked to turn the match around, but it wasn’t meant to be and the match ended in our first defeat of the season.
