Torres: "To be able to win a trophy for the club I support, would be perfect"
Following our captains, Fernando Torres and Saúl Ñíguez took the stage at the auditorium in the Wanda Metropolitano.
Next up on the stage were our two academy products Fernando Torres and Saúl Ñíguez.
Following his announcement that this season will be his last one defending our colours, Torres is hopeful for a great match in the Stade de Lyon.
"To be able to win a trophy for the club I support, which has been my dream since I was a kid, would be perfect," Torres said. "We know how important this final is for the club."
Saúl, like Torres, knows how special this final will be and expects a great end to the season.
"When I made my debut in 2012, we won the Europa League," he said. "It was a very special moment for me, but I told two teammates that I wanted to win it being a key player."
Torres knows no final is easy and expects a difficult matchup against Olympique de Marseille.
"Finals are always disputed until the end," he said. "The players know those 90 minutes can define the season."
