Toby: "I have to do very well to play"
Alderweireld is working hard to earn the trust of Simeone. On Saturday, he played 90 minutes against Espanyol and knows how hard it is to be a starter for the red and whites.
Toby Alderweireld made his debut last Saturday at Cornella- El Prat. The Belgian center back played 90 minutes alongside Diego Godin in the center of defense. The defender was upset at the defeat to Espanyol ."My feelings after the debut is not good. I'm angry because we lost, but I gave everything I could. I did the best I know."
Toby explained that he had been waiting for his debut "it’s been a long time, but I was sure it would come as the coach told me I would have my chance if I worked hard and I'm doing that. I know that every time I play I have to do my best, as it is very difficult to be a starter at Atletico."
"Everyone here knows that if we train our chances will come. Then we have to take advantage of them, "said the defender.
Alderweireld follows the line of his captain Gabi - and appeals to to look at the result in Barcelona and look at the following objective: "You can not win them all and we know that. Now I'm slowly trying to learn Spanish to improve my position within the team. Courtois is important to me here, but I'm also trying to find my own place within the team.
