Thibaut Courtois and Baptistão, finalists in the League awards
Thibaut Courtois, last season’s Zamora is up against Valdes and Willy Caballero. Meanwhile, Leo Baptistão will fight for the Newcomer Award with A.Moreno from Sevilla and Illarramendi.
The extraordinary season by the team last year continues to bear fruit in the form of nominations and awards for members of the squad. After winning the Zamora, Thibaut Courtois received his nomination on Tuesday for the best goalkeeper of the year in the fifth edition of the LFP awards. The technical committee made up of Manolo Sarabia, Antonio Maceda, Miguel Angel Ruiz, Juan Manuel Lillo, Vicente Blanco 'Tito' and Ricardo Resta choose the Belgian as one of the three best goalkeepers of the season with Victor Valdes and Willy Caballero .
The other nomination for the 'red and white' comes for our new Brazilian. Leo Baptistão, one of our new additions has been nominated for the newcomer award for his work at Rayo Vallecano. Illarramendi and A.Moreno will contest the award with him.
On 2 December the will gala will take place in which the trophies will be awarded. The voting period in which First Division coaches will choose the best at each position and in which the players select the best coach and the best player.
