The stats for Atleti-Liverpool FC

Our Champions League group stage third fixture is to be played at the Wanda Metropolitano at 9pm CET.

  • We have faced Liverpool six times (3W, 2D, 1L).
  • The only time we lost to the English club was in the return leg of the 2010 Europa League semifinals, but we qualified for the final nonetheless and went on to win the tournament thanks to Forlán’s goal at Anfield.
  • The last time both clubs met was on March 11, 2020 as our team earned an epic 3-2 win at Anfield.
  • This will be the third time we host Liverpool – and the second at the Wanda Metropolitano – in the Champions League. We previously won 1-0 in the 19/20 season and drew 1-1 in 08/09.
  • Jürgen Klopp’s side are the Group B leaders, having picked up six points from their two games. In the last match, they won 5-1 at FC Porto. Atleti earned a key away win over AC Milan (2-1) on matchday 2 – meaning we so far have four points.
  • Liverpool have scored the most goals so far in the Champions League along with Bayern (eight), five of which with the left foot.
  • Both teams have an 85% pass success rate in the competition.
  • Griezmann and Suárez are Atleti’s top scorers with one goal each, whereas Salah has netted three for Liverpool.
  • Llorente is our player with the best pass success rate in the competition (94.5%). Matip has the exact same success rate and also is his team’s leader in that category.
