Objective Super Cup
Atletico Madrid started preparing the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona after the hefty victory yesterday against Rayo Vallecano.
Diego Pablo Simeone called in the entire workforce to the Vicente Calderon to begin to prepare for the game on Wednesday, 23:00h, against Barcelona to decide the new champion the Spanish Super Cup.
The coach divided them in to two groups, first the starters from yesterdays win against Rayo and the rest did alternative training for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The starting eleven worked with Carlos Menendez doing work to restore muscle after the effort yesterday. While Courtois, Bounou, and Aranzubia did specific work with Pablo Vercellone the keeping coach and Oscar Ortega managed the physical session that started with ball exercises and stretching before the relevant tactical work.
The Atletico coach decided to complete the closed session working on the strategy that will be used in the crucial match in Catalonia. After the draw in the first leg, Atletico will travel to Barcelona on Tuesday to try to win the first title of the season.
