The ‘rojiblancos’ want to forget about their poor streak and focus on Valencia

Ujfalusi: “The players are aware of our current form”

The Atlético de Madrid players want to forget about the loss to Barcelona as quickly as possible. They know that they’re going into a tough part of the schedule against the rivals of their particular ‘league’ and are aware that they need to start winning. Fran Mérida acknowledged that “we knew that getting a win was going to be difficult, but we tried. We didn’t have the ball in the first half and it’s very tough to beat Barcelona that way. Now we have to keep working and focus on the Valencia fixture.”

For his part, Ujfalusi also acknowledged the superiority of Barcelona and explained that “they’re the best team. We tried and even had two chances, but it wasn’t meant to be. Now we have to try and break the bad run against Valencia. We have to try and play each match as if it were the last. The dressing room is aware of our current form. We know that we have to bring the team out of its current spot. We have to start to win now.”

To finish, David De Gea also had no problems recognizing the superiority of the Catalan side and said that “until the goal, the team was focused and pressuring well, even though we didn’t have much of the ball. Now we have a series of matches against direct rivals. We have to keep working to try and re-emerge from this situation. Messi is the best player in the world; he has it all.”
