The ‘rojiblancos’ return to work with their minds set on Mallorca

Perea, Godín and Diego Costa do alternative work

The Atlético de Madrid first squad returned to training on Tuesday as they get ready for their final league match at the Iberostar Estadi against Mallorca on Saturday at 10 p.m. The ‘rojiblancos’ will be playing for the Europa League Group Stage after having clinched a spot in at least the play-in round by beating Hércules last week.

Noguera, from Atlético B, took part in this session after having been included on the matchday roster this past Sunday and getting into the game for the final moments against Hércules. Also participating in the practice were Atlético B players Pulido, Alberto Perea and Borja, who normally train with the first team. For their part, Luis Perea, Godín and Diego Costa didn’t work out with the group, instead doing alternative work.

The team trained for approximately an hour-and-a-half and began with 4v2s before continuing with a ball possession game with goalkeepers and a finishing drill. The session was wrapped up with a small-sided practice match.
