The ‘rojiblancos’ begin to prepare for their next match against Bayer
The full squad trained in Majadahonda without incident
Atlético de Madrid returned to training after the day-off granted the players by Quique Sánchez Flores with their sights set on this coming Thursday’s match against Bayer Leverkusen. The Europa League is heading into it’s last matchday of the Group Stage and the Club from the Vicente Calderón will travel to Germany with the aim of earning a victory and hoping that Aris does not beat Rosenborg in order to pass through to the next round.
The session, which lasted almost an hour, began with the goalkeepers doing work with goalkeeping coach Emilio Álvarez, while the rest of the squad jogged with the first team physical trainer Jordi García. Afterwards, they did a warm-up with the ball and then the whole team got together to practice. None of the players are currently injured and they all completed the training session without problems.
Once they were all together, Quique Sánchez Flores took the reins of the session. The ‘rojiblanco’ manager divided the squad into two teams and they played a practice match and worked on pressure and release of the ball upfield. After this phase of the practice, the squad finished with physical work. Sergio Agüero didn’t take part in this stage and retired from the session early as a precaution.
