The first team eats together after Wednesday’s training
The lunch was held at La Farola
The Atlético de Madrid first squad (coaching staff and players) held a lunch on Wednesday 9 March in order to come together as they head into the final stretch of La Liga. The ‘rojiblanco’ players congregated after the morning session at the La Farola Restaurant in Majadahonda with a single aim, to make sure they’re on the same page and join their forces and hopes as they strive to reach European spots in the final weeks of the season.
After the three points earned last week against Villarreal, a team that currently sits in fourth place in the table, and which marks the limit for Champions League access, all of the Atleti players decided to unite and share a meal together.
Therefore, their intention is to maintain the level of play they showed against Villarreal, and follow the same line in the upcoming matches that Atlético will have to face. The first one is at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos on Saturday 12 against Almería and the next, an important derby against Real Madrid that will also serve as an homage to the all-time leading goal-scorer for the ‘rojiblanco’ club, Adrián Escudero, who passed away this week.
