The first European night of the Wanda Metropolitano

Today we play at the Wanda Metropolitano a big Champions League game for the European debut of our new stadium. We play against the English champion, a team managed by Antonio Conte and that is one of the top clubs in the continent.

It will not be the first time that we play Chelsea. We have done so five times, with two wins for Atlético, two ties and a defeat. The last fixture against the 'blue' team was in the 2013-14 Champions League semi-finals, in which our team beat the English team to end up playing the final in Lisbon. In addition, in 2012, both teams played for the UEFA Super Cup, a match won by our club by 1-4 with goals by Falcao (scoring a hat-trick) and Miranda.

Both teams are in good shape. Chelsea comes from not losing in the last seven games, whereas Atlético is unbeaten this season so far. In the first week of the Champions group stage, Atlético won a point in a complicated away match against Roma. In a good match played by our team, the duel against Roma finished with a goalless tie. For their part, Chelsea beat Qarabag by 6-0 at Stamford Bridge.
