The Copa del Rey is back at the Wanda Metropolitano
Our team hosts the Catalan side in the second leg of the Copa del Rey Round of 32, after having earned a 1-0 win in the away match.
The Copa del Rey is back at the Wanda Metropolitano with the second leg of the Copa del Rey Round of 32. Atleti will be facing Sant Andreu on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7.30 p.m. CET.
Simeone's side will look to qualify for the cup's next round. To do so, we need to hold on to the 1-0 lead we gained at the Narcís Sala stadium, where Gelson Martins scored the winner. Our team is undefeated so far this season at the Wanda Metropolitano (11W, 2D).
Sant Andreu currently sit 14th in their league with 21 points, and are the only remaining Tercera División team in the Copa del Rey, out of the category's 18 clubs that started the competition. In order to reach the Last 32, the Catalans knocked out UE Cornellá (1-1, [2-3 on penalties]), Gernika (1-0) and Calahorra (1-0).
Even though this is to be their first time at the Wanda Metropolitano, Sant Andreu have already faced our team in the cup. It happened in the 2013/14 season, when Atleti earned a 2-1 win at the Vicente Calderón.
