The Champions League is back at the Wanda Metropolitano for the 2018/2019 season with our match against Club Brugge.

Europe's most prestigious club competition returns to Atleti's stadium following our team's win in the opener against AS Monaco on Sep. 18. The goals scored by Diego Costa and José María Giménez allowed Los Colchoneros to secure a 2-1 victory on the night.

Club Brugge were held to a 1-0 defeat by Borussia Dortmund in their Champions League debut. However, they are yet to lose in the Belgian First Division A, where they have registered 25 out of 27 points and earned a 4-0 win against city rivals Cercle Brugge in their last match. Brazilian striker Wesley is the team's top scorer with six goals.

Wednesday's game will be the fifth official match between Atleti and Club Brugge. Both teams previously faced each other in the quarter-finals of the 1977/78 European Cup and the 1991/1992 European Cup Winners' Cup. Our team earned a 3-2 win in both games at the Vicente Calderón.
