The Calderon remains a fortress
Another attacking display from Atletico Madrid who continue their great start to the campaign. The Calderon remains the fortress where the team have score nine goals in two matches played at home. David Villa, Diego Costa with a penalty, Tiago and Raul Garcia got the goals with Rodri and Aleix Vidal for Almeria.

Atletico Madrid have won all games so far this season. After Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallecano, Almeria was the fourth to fall. Twelve of 12 possible points earned. On a bright afternoon on a sun bathed pitch Atletico wer too strong for Almeria.
During the early stages of the match, the football played by both sides was bitty and strewn with errors, it could be put down to nerves but gradually Simeone 's men settled in to the game and after just 15 minutes they found themselves leading thanks to a David Villa goal. Good work down the right hand side from Juanfran wo put the ball in to the box where Raul Garcia looked to get there before Trujillo, the defender clear it, but only as far as David Villa who finished well to get his third goal of the season.
After the goal Atletico got on top and the visitors struggled to get in to the game. In the 37th minute the home side doubled their lead from the penalty spot. Pellerano brought down Filipe Luis. Diego Costa stepped up and made no mistake from 12 yards out to make it 2-0 Atleti.
Almería did not lay down and three minutes later pulled one back after a good move from Rafiki who played in Rodri to make it 2-1. The Almeria strikers fourth league goal of the season, tying with Diego Costa in the duel for the top scorer in the league.
The second half started brightly for Atletico with Koke hitting the bar not long after the restart but were unable to extend their lead. The Uruguayan defensive pair of Gimenez and Godin looked solid at the back and the midfield and forwards looked dangerous but they had to wait until the 67th minute to add the third goal when Gabi found Tiago alone inside the area and the Portuguese midfielder beat Estaban to make it 3-1. The scoring didn’t end there as three minutes later Raul Garcia got a he truly deserved capping off a fine performance.
In the dying minutes, Almeria pulled one back, Verza found Aleix Vidal who beat Courtois in the Atleti goal. The full time whistle sounded just a few moments later signalling 3 more points for Atletico de Madrid and making it 4 wins out of 4. Attention will switch to Wednesday’s Champions League game against Zenit St. Petersburg.
