Raúl García has written a new page in the great red and white history with his participation in the match against Juventus of Turin. The player from Navarra became the one to have defended our Club’s shirt the most times in European competition. With the duel against the Italian team, the Spanish International has reached 67 matches in Europe, with which he surpasses the legendary Adelardo. A number distributed in 31 matches in the UEFA Champions League, 32 matches between the former UEFA Cup and the current Europa League, 2 duels in the European Super Cup and another 2 in the Intertoto Cup.

The great performances of Raúl García with our organization have been vital for our winning the 2010 UEFA Europa League and the European Super Cups from 2010 and 2012.

The midfielder who has already entered Atlético’s history will try to continue adding matches in Europe with Atlético de Madrid in the coming seasons. Behind him are Adelardo with 66 matches, the Colombian Perea with 56 matches, Collar with 49 duels and Luis Aragonés with 48.
