The Atlético family mourns Feliciano Rivilla’s death
In honor of Feliciano Rivilla, our flag in the Wanda Metropolitano will be lowered to half-staff.
Atlético de Madrid is mourning our ex player Feliciano Rivilla’s death (1936-2017). Rivilla defended our club’s jersey in 356 matches throughout 10 seasons.
Our legendary right back made his debut for Atlético in 1958 and stayed in the club until 1968, when he retired. For the club, Rivilla won three Copas (1960, 1961 and 1965), one league title (1965-66) and the 1962 Cup Winners' Cup against Fiorentina.
In his goodbye match, Atlético faced Pelé’s Santos in the Estadio Manzanares (later Vicente Calderón). After retiring, he wished to stay linked with the club and became the president of the Association of Atlético Veterans, once it was created in 1999.
In honor of Feliciano Rivilla, for the next 24 hours, our flag in the Wanda Metropolitano will be lowered to half-staff
