The Atlético de Madrid players will have off until 28 December

They will return to get ready for the league fixture against Racing de Santander

The Atlético de Madrid first squad will enjoy several days of rest after the Copa del Rey round of 16 first leg match against Espanyol, in which they won by a score of one-nil. Quique Sánches Flores’ lads will return to training on Tuesday afternoon 28 December (5:30 pm) at the Majadahonda Sports Complex facilities to begin to prepare for their next match, which will be played on Monday 3 January against Racing de Santander in a match corresponding to week 17 of La Liga.

The foreign players who have to take long trips to return to their homes will have permission to rejoin the training on Wednesday 29 December.

These days off are much needed, especially after the last few weeks in which the load of games has been quite heavy due to Atlético de Madrid’s participation in three competitions: La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Europa League.

The ‘rojiblanco’ players will be able to enjoy this time to get some rest in order to regain energy. This is critical to the squad facing the important commitments ahead in top form, when they’ll try to reach the goals they’ve set for themselves for the 2010-11 season.
