Atlético de Madrid and Stefan Savić have reached an agreement to terminate the player’s contract. The Montenegro international leaves our Club after nine seasons and 297 games at the heart of the Rojiblancos’ defence.
The centre-back joined Atlético de Madrid in July 2015 and made his competitive debut in a 2-0 win over Getafe on 22 September of that year. He has made 297 appearances since then, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
He made vital contributions to Atléti’s Europa League and UEFA Super Cup wins in 2018, as well as the 2020/21 LaLiga title, when he stood out as one of the league’s best central defenders.
Atlético de Madrid would like to thank Stefan Savić for his efforts over nine years at the Club and wish him all the best for the future.
