Striker Sergio Kun Agüero agrees to a contract extension with Atlético de Madrid
The Spanish-Argentine forward signs until 2014
Within the general policy of Club Atlético de Madrid and its project of keeping players who form part of the ‘rojiblanco’ first squad around, the organization initiated the pertinent contact to bring to fruition the contract extensions of several of its players. After tying up Diego Forlán last season until June 2013 and later signing Assunçao, Ujfalusi, Reyes and Perea to extensions, Atlético de Madrid has taken another step in its future project and can make it official that, one of their stalwarts, Sergio Kun Agüero has renewed his contract as well.
After putting the finishing touches on the operation, the Club has reached a deal with the Argentine striker which will keep Kun Agüero at the organization by the Manzanares River until 30 June 2014. It should be recalled that his previous contract was to expire in 2012. The Spanish-Argentine arrived at the Madrid side in 2006 and by the end of 2014 will have completed eight seasons in the red-and-white jersey, something quite unusual these days in the world of football and which shows the player’s commitment to the Club that gave him his opportunity to succeed in Europe. The date on which this extension will be presented will be announced in the upcoming days.
