Simeone: "We tried but weren’t precise enough"
The Argentine coach recognizes the mistakes of his side during the game and praised the work of Real that took one of the few chances they had
After the first defeat of the season at the Vicente Calderon in the league, Diego Pablo Simeone spoke of the efforts his team had made and how they deserved more. "The game was intense in the first 20 minutes. We felt that the goal was going to come but from there we lowered the intensity. We could not move the ball quickly enough and we weren’t accurate. In the second half it was the same but the first goal hurt us.”
After 14 straight wins, the three points slipped away from Atletico but they’re already looking ahead. "Tomorrow morning we will work trying to improve what we have to improve as a team. It will help us return to what we’re trying to do" he said.
Despite the number of chances Atletico had, the visitors hardly arrive in Courtois’ area.
we will work trying to improve

Finally, Simeone praised the opponent. Real knew what they had to do and carried out their plan to perfection. "They pressured us in the final third, played narrow and took their chance. They played a good game."
