Simeone: “We played very well as a team”
Our coach, Koke, Trippier and Saúl spoke following our 2-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow.
Simeone spoke following Wednesday’s Champioons League win against Lokomotiv Moscow.
“I’m happy, because it isn’t easy reach the Champions League last 16. A fantastic tie awaits, because all teams are very strong. It will be a fascinating challenge. The fans are always by our side and they have no idea how important they are. Now it’s time to continue in the same way in LaLiga,” our coach said.
Koke was happy with the win and started thinking about Saturday’s game against Osasuna.
“We needed a win like this and qualify for our fans. Our team created chances from the off. This makes us feel more confident. We have an important match on Saturday and we want to win,” our captain said.
Trippier praised the team’s performance.
“The most important thing is the win. We needed to put in a strong performance to qualify, and we’ve done that. I’m delighted that Joao and Felipe got goals tonight. I thought the team effort was outstanding tonight, both offensively and defensively,” the Englishman said.
Saúl praised the fans for their support.
“We achieved our goal. It was like a final for us, and now we’re in the last 16 also thanks to our fans. We played very well. It’s very important for us and the club,” the Spaniard said.
