Diego Pablo Simeone was self-critical after the defeat against Celta: "I think in the first half, I chose a bad formation. I lost 45 minutes by choosing badly. Beyond that, Celta played very well, they played a good game and won fairly."

Simeone analysed the mistakes his team made during the 90 minutes: "We were missing balance, better connecting between the lines. We lost the ball too quickly and that kept us out. The idea was to have speed with Fernando and Griezmann, but it almost never happened. Mostly because we lost the ball too many times when we started plays. We had trouble connecting and that's why Cani came in, to balance that absence of play in the midfield towards the goal and I think we did pretty well, better than in the first half."

Our coach explained the substitution of Tiago in the first half: "He left because his calf muscles were slightly cramped. He requested the substitution and Mario came in, but we had already changed a bit earlier to the 4-3-3 with Torres a little bit more to the left."

The Argentinian, acknowledged that "I don't consider Balaídos to be a small field," and announced that, "we continue competing and now have to think of working to play a good game on Saturday."
