Diego Pablo Simeone: "We need to enjoy this"
Following our UEFA Super Cup win, the boss spoke to the press.
Following our team's great showing in the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid, Diego Pablo Simeone spoke to the press.
"I'm happy," he said. "Once again, we responded well in a European final."
This is our third UEFA Super Cup and our boss is happy with the boys' performance.
"In the 2012 Super Cup, we beat Chelsea and now we beat an important rival."
Simeone believes the changes from the bench changed the match for the better.
"We started off strongly with the goal and then they were better until Benzema scored," he said. "After that, it was a tight match. The penalty took us out of the match a bit, but we knew we could cause danger. I think Correa's introduction was very good and Thomas gave a lot of strength to the team."
Lastly the boss spoke about how he feels after winning.
"We need to enjoy today because we we lose we suffer and get mad. But when we win, we need to enjoy it," he said. "Starting Thursday night, we'll think about LaLiga because it'll be a tough season."
