Simeone: “We improved in the second half and that's the way forward”

Our coach, Koke, Joao Félix and Mario Hermoso spoke about Friday’s match at Villarreal.

Simeone spoke after Friday’s 0-0 draw at Villarreal.

“We needed to win. The first half was tough, and we improved a lot after the break. We played in their half of the pitch and had many chances to score. That’s the way forward. The goals will arrive,” our coach said.

Koke urged our team to continue working hard and be more clinical.

“We’re trying our best, but we’re being not clinical in front of goal. We need to score goals to win games. We’re giving it our all and defending well but all of us must be more clinical. We have to keep improving and working hard,” our captain said.

Joao Félix remained optimistic about the future.

“We’re unhappy not to have earned the three points. We have to improve in front of goal. This is a phase and all phases are temporary. Better times will come,” our forward said.

Mario Hermoso claimed that the most important thing was for our team to create chances.

“We’re creating chances, which is the most important thing, but we’re not being lucky in front of goal. We’re more and more eager to turn things around. I’m sure the results will come,” our defender said.
