Simeone: "We did a fantastic job and we could have won"
Atlético’s coach highlighted the work of his team in a game in which we played more than 45 minutes without one player.
Diego Pablo Simeone analysed our team’s tie against Espanyol. Atlético’s coach said that "it was a pretty even first half. We had a chance with a shot by Griezmann. I found the second half very well played on our part and even with ten, we could have won the match if their goalkeeper had not been so good."
Simeone acknowledged that "I'm leaving happy with the team’s work. We did a fantastic job and with ten men we could have won the match. Casilla had a brilliant performance and I’m happy and we have to keep working."
Lastly, Simeone noted the attitude of the team during the game: "I see that the team is growing. We have to keep going, roll up our sleeves, prepare Tuesday’s match and work, that it is the only way we know to improve."
