Simeone: “The team’s attitude after the red card was very good”
Our coach, Adán and Trippier spoke following the game in Dallas.
Simeone analysed our team’s win against Chivas.
“The team’s attitude following Marcos Llorente’s red card was very good. Costa and Morata worked hard for the team and we had chances to score even when we were down to ten men. In the second half, the young lads gained minutes and experience which we will need throughout the season,” our coach said.
Adán, who was the hero in the penalty shootout, was happy with the performance.
“We’re feeling good. We want to win even if it’s a pre-season tournament. We were down to ten men for a very long time. In the end we won on penalties, and it’s always good to win,” the Spaniard said.
Trippier was asked about the team’s reaction when going down to ten men.
“I thought we reacted well. The mentality of the team was unbelievable, we continued to press and try to win the ball back quickly. We want to win, no matter who we play. That’s the mindset from this team and this coach. Two wins from two games, and long may it continue,” the Englishman said.
The right-back also spoke about his first days at our club.
“I’m extremely proud to be here and willing to give it my all. The supporters have been incredible. They’ve been so nice to me and welcomed me with open arms. I’ll do my best for the shirt,” Trippier said.
