Simeone: “The team worked humbly”
Our coach, Koke, Arias and Savic spoke following Wednesday’s 2-0 away win.
Simeone was happy with his team’s performance following Atleti’s 2-0 away win at Mallorca on Wednesday.
“The team played well in the first half and we could have reached half-time with a bigger lead. Mallorca improved in the second half, but we defended well. The team worked humbly,” the Argentine said.
Koke shared his thoughts on the beginning of the season.
“We kicked off the season very well, but then we didn’t perform as we wanted in the last three games. I think we have a great team, with young players. We have to be patient and, if we work hard, victories like tonight’s will come,” our captain said.
Arias spoke after completing his first 90 minutes of the season.
“Tonight’s game was important for me in order to regain confidence and get some minutes. That’s the most important thing, to be 100% ready whenever the opportunity arises,” the Colombian said.
Savic spoke about the importance of Wednesday’s win.
“It was important to play well and earn the three points. We have a lot of games in this period and it was important to win, also in order to arrive at the derby in the best possible way,” our defender said.
