Simeone: "The team's effort was outstanding"
Our coach, Godín, Morata and Giménez spoke after the Champions League win against Juventus.
Simeone, Godín, Morata and Giménez shared their thoughts after Wednesday's fantastic win over Juventus at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Our coach praised his player for their effort.
"It was a very strong team performance. We try to improve every day. The tie is not over. We will have to suffer in Turin against a side that has incredible players," Simeone said.
Godín was already thinking about the away leg.
"The team's effort was outstanding, but we have to prepare for what's ahead, knowing that there are still 90 minutes to go," our captain said.
Morata was happy with the result, but was also thinking about the upcoming game in Italy.
"The most important thing was to win, and we did. This is Atleti, we will travel to Turin with a great result. We know what we have to do over there," the Spaniard said.
Giménez was very pleased with the team's performance and with his goal.
"We knew what we had to do. Juventus are a great team and we knew we had to give 200% of ourselves. I'm very happy with the goal and to have helped the team. We did a great job, but there are still 90 minutes to go and the tie is open. It will be tough," the Uruguayan said.
