THE COACH IS HAPPY AT THE NEW SIGNING AND CONTRACT RENEWALS

Simeone: "The renovations are very healthy to maintain our identity"

The Atletico coach at a press conference highlighted the importance of both signings to strengthen and renewals to maintain the winning bloc. Betting on the usual strategy of going game by game.

Diego Pablo Simeone appeared before the media after training on the pitch of the Vicente Calderon. The coach has already watched the opponents for the next game, Almería: "They were promoted, a team who has started well, scoring goals and with a very interesting attack . They have youth on the wings, they have experience with Soriano and Rodri . Theyre very dangerous offensively and Vidal who can play on either the left or right can cause problems. They'll be a tough opponent and we will give great intensity to take the match where we want it".

One of the keys to maintaining the high level of the team in recent seasons is to keep the block. With the renovation of many of the key players in the group and with the additions of this summer, Atletico Madrid is fully prepared for the three competitions that they will face. It is vital that players seek to keep our identity and style of play: "The renovations will certainly maintain the line that is needed to remain competitive. We continue with players who know what it means to play for this club and they will be here for years, which makes me very happy, it’s very healthy that players continue to maintain our identity."

He also discussed the new signings, Guilavogui and Alderweireld who will provide more internal competition to the group: "I am happy with the new arrivals. Toby is a player who belongs to the Belgium, who in recent years has grown tremendously, they have a great young team. Josuha too, is a young guy and if Deschamps is happy with him, he is on the right track."

Finally, Diego Pablo Simeone reminded that nobody here has their niche and that if players stop thinking game by game and look at the distant future, they will lose all their power: "The players train and that allows us to evaluate who is right to play. I don’t owe anything to anyone, some may start one week and be on the bench the next week or vice versa. I focus only on players who can contribute more to us in the game, we have to keep driving forward and looking game by game" he said.
