Regarding the League match played 10 days ago, Atlético’s coach said that, "we need to start the game better because the beginning was not good. We didn't play with the intensity and pressure we usually do. And against a team like Barcelona, who did very well in the first half hour, we struggled."

As for his personal situation with the Club, he made it clear that, "I'm very well. I'm where I want to be and I train a group of players who are hungry and who have given me life sporting-wise. And those things cannot be not traded. Clearly, the spirit of the challenge to grow exists. And I see that Atlético de Madrid has a tremendous future and surely a fantastic present. And with daily institutional growth, which is what us Atléticos have always wanted. I identify with this growth and I am committed and engaged with what happens in the Club. And in that sense, we are with the players, with the leaders and with the people. That's why we've achieved what we have in the last three and a half years."

Regarding if the key is going to be to stop Messi or not, Simeone stressed that "the key is to be determine how and where to attack. If we can take the game to where we want to and attack where we want to, we will have options. We need to understand how to attack a team like Barcelona. And if we understand that, we will have options."
