Simeone: "The game was well played, well understood and very thorough"
The match at Anoeta went as the team wanted despite the goal in the second half. Simeone welcomes the nine points gained but does not look back. Next target, Almeria.
Big win at Anoeta by two goals to one. At the end of the match, Diego Pablo Simeone told his impressions after winning in a place as complicated as Anoeta. "One always hopes for the best and we had to work for it. We can up against especially tough opponents. The game was well played, well understood and very complete.” He summarised in the press room.
The Real Sociedad goal came from a quickly taken free kick on the edge of the area to pull one back. "Goals are the goals. In the game itself the team played very well and closed paths that could have made it complicated." admitted the coach.
Real Sociedad, who had not lost at home since November and had recorded lot of big wins in Anoeta. "After their goal they really came in to the match. They’ve come on tremendously from a year ago and have great players. They’re competitive with young players. It’s nice to see them play." he said .
After the first three victories, the team arrives at the break in the top of the table but it does not stop. "If we don’t do this in the next game these are just numbers. We continue to go from game to game. The triumph in Anoeta is positive but this is behind us and now we’re preparing for the next game." he said before joining the squad to return to Madrid with the three points in the bag.
