Simeone reaches his 300th match as Atlético’s manager
The Argentinian, the second manager with more official matches on our bench, has reached his 300th match against Barcelona at the Calderón.
Diego Pablo Simeone has reached this Sunday his 300th official match on the red and white bench. The Argentinian, who made his début in January, 2012 in La Rosaleda, continues making history as Atlético’s manager. Last season, Simeone became the second manager with more games under his belt in our history by surpassing Ricardo Zamora. Only Luis Aragonés, with 612 matches coaching the red and white team, surpasses our current manager.
Out of the 300 matches, Simeone has won 187 times, tied 61 and lost 52. In addition, the Argentinian manager has won five titles: a Europa League, a UEFA Super Cup, a King’s Cup, a League and a Spanish Super Cup.
