Simeone managed his 800th match as coach of Atlético de Madrid
Since his arrival at our Club at the end of 2011, Diego Pablo Simeone has 470 wins, 168 draws and 161 defeats as the Rojiblanco manager.
After 15 seasons in the Rojiblanco dugout, our coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, has reached the milestone of 800 matches managing Atleti. He achieved this figure against Villarreal at the Estadio de La Cerámica, where we played our last league match of the season.
With Simeone in charge, Atlético have won two LaLiga titles (2013/14 and 2020/21), one Copa del Rey (2012/13), one Supercopa de España (2014), two Europa League titles (2011/12 and 2017/18) and two Supercopa de Europa trophies (2012 and 2018).
He made his debut as Atlético's coach on 7 January 2012 against Málaga (0-0) at the Estadio de La Rosaleda on Matchday 18 of the 2011/12 season.
Since then, he has continued to forge his legend year after year at the helm of the Rojiblancos, becoming our longest-serving manager in Atleti history ahead of Luis Aragonés (612) and Ricardo Zamora (207).
