The Argentine has been shortlisted for The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, whereas the Swede is a nominee in the Women’s Goalkeeper category.

FIFA on Monday revealed the candidates for its The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2021. Simeone has been shortlisted for The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, whereas Atleti Femenino’s Hedvig Lindahl is a nominee in the Women’s Goalkeeper category.

The Argentine guided Atleti to the 2020/21 LaLiga title. It was his eighth trophy as our coach – having so far won the league twice, one Copa del Rey, two Europa Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups and one Spanish Super Cup.

The Swede won the Spanish Super Cup in her first season at our club. She was key in the competition’s semi-final penalty shootout against FC Barcelona, and kept a clean sheet in the final against Levante. She also won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
