Simeone: "It’s one of the best matches we’ve played in a long time"
Our coach assessed the 3-0 win at the Sánchez Pizjuán and thanked the team for all the effort demonstrated on the pitch.
Diego Pablo Simeone met the press at the Sánchez Pizjuán. The Argentinian assessed the importance of the win against Sevilla: "From the result, it would seem simple. We were facing a rival that has one of the best teams. It can attack on the wings or on the midfield. It defends well. But the team’s best thing was the high pressure. Griezmann and Torres played a tremendous match in that pressure."
In addition, Simeone said that "we are improving little by little. The other day it was harder for us. Today, there were a few moments of the match where the team did not have control of the game. It is possibly one of the best we have played in a long time.”
Lastly, our coach said that the objective is the next match against FC Barcelona: "We still maintain that we are only excited about the next match."
