Simeone: "It was a very tough match"
Our coach, Diego Costa and Morata shared their thoughts following Saturday's win at the Estadio de Vallecas.
Simeone on Saturday highlighted the difficulty of our 1-0 away win against Rayo Vallecano.
"It's always tough at this stadium. We started off well and we had chances in the first 15 minutes such as Saúl's header, but then they improved. Our second half substitutions gave us more offensive strength and that allowed us to get our goal. It was a very tough match," the Argentine said.
Our coach also praised the performances from Oblak and Griezmann.
"Oblak played very well, like the goalkeepers from top teams play. Grizmann is an extraordinary player, he always adapts to what the team needs. He's very important for us," Simeone said.
Diego Costa also spoke after the game, which was his first match following his injury.
"Being injured is very tough, but I'm very happy to be back doing what I love the most. We managed to win in Vallecas, where Rayo are hard to beat. To earn the three points here you have to be brave," our striker said.
Morata was happy about Costa's return.
"I'm very happy that he's recovered. He's helped me a lot since I arrived. He's a great person, he's my friend. I'm delighted to play alongside him," the Spaniard said.
